SHONEN KNIFE
Osaka's Shonen Knife have been playing their patented brand of sticky
sweet pop rock since 1981. Common song topics include candy, animals,
and summertime, which perfectly complement the childlike qualities
of their music. They are perhaps the world's most well-known Japanese
rock band due to the efforts of fans like Sonic Youth, Nirvana,
and Redd Kross. Despite the departure of singer/bassist Michie Nakatani
back in 1999, sisters Naoko and Atsuko Yamana have continued the
Shonen Knife legacy expanding their musical reach into the realms
of techno and funk in the process. 2005 marked the release of their
12th album. TnR is proud to carry their first four independent releases.
